The art of getting is not new to us. Many of us hunt for a tried formula or try to understand some type of spell to perform the work for us, but you should not!
Do not attempt to decipher the right formula since it does not exist.
When you find what you truly need, you will work for it, and it will happen, if not today, then eventually.
When you look at the world’s most successful athletes, one of the fundamental characteristics that consistently leaps out is their ability to focus on their goals. Nadal once stated that he knows where his next shot will be well before it occurs. So many times, we see what we really desire, but we let ourselves down.
Keep your dreams to yourself; you are the only one who can validate them. Concentrate your attention and recognize that you are the only person who needs to grant you permission to go where you are. If you think about it, you already know what you’re excellent at and what makes you happy.
When you realize that you are the only one who needs to think that you can accomplish whatever you want, then is when you will do it. Because, in the end, no matter how much support you hear from others, the voice you must always listen to is your own.
We frequently attribute our accomplishments to chance or innate abilities, but we miss our own potential. So, how do you go about getting what you desire in life? This question may have an easy answer. It all comes down to having a development attitude that makes getting what you want in life inevitable. So, how can you master the skill of attaining what you desire or require in life?
But, before we get into this piece, let’s quickly distinguish between “what you want” and “what you need” because the boundary between want and need is frequently blurred.
What is the Art of Getting What You Want?
When we say there is an art of getting what you want, it simply focuses on using self-esteem and confidence. And a technique to get what you want from your career, relationship, and life.
- There are two variations of people in this world, one who makes things happen on their own and then others who wait for something to happen on their own, at their own pace. The former ones are not scared.
- They don’t think about winning or losing.
- They embark on their next adventure without being nervous about anything.
- They know where they’re going and have the means to get there.
Life is not about playing it safe because that is just an illusion. If you don’t take risks, you will never grow. You will never evolve if you never fail and start from the bottom. Regardless of what’s happening around you, you should be able to take control of your life to take you to the next level.
Everybody has the potential to be great. However, it is not hard to create amazing things that will live way past their time. The truth is that people are unwilling to put in any hard work. They sit down and wait patiently for some miracle.
They wait for the right moment and opportunity to come knocking on their door.
So honestly speaking, there isn’t any suitable time. You just have to begin doing it. Things can never be perfect, so don’t wait for them to be flawless. Perfection is an illusion as we start tricking ourselves into believing something that isn’t achievable. This way, we begin feeling optimistic that that perfect moment will come one day. Trust me; it won’t. You have to meet it at least halfway and get it yourself.
When you let your brain be conscious of what is happening around you and focus on what you want from life. This increased awareness will work in your favor to automatically bring opportunities into your life.
It’s not magic; it’s just that you can finally see all the possibilities to move forward with your dreams, which were hiding from you previously.
Getting what you want is difficult. And at times, it seems random. Even the most successful people you know aren’t always the smartest. They aren’t always the ones you expected to succeed. Generally, the people who get what they want are the most determined and follow a similar pattern. To lay your hands on your dream:
1. Sit down and consider what you require the most
Is it from your family? The ability to express yourself? Love? What about financial security? Is there anything else?
Not knowing exactly what you want makes life complicated—the paradox of choice. To gain focus, you need to select a clear and tangible goal because the more you dream about, the more you lack focus.
The first step towards achieving your dreams is to turn them into concrete and reachable goals. You probably won’t get there if you don’t know where you want to go! Be specific. If you want to be the boss, you should first clearly define what the boss being means to you.
After that, you have to set out a plan. Write down and visualize realistic benchmarks.
You can only soar if you fight back against something you don’t want. Determine what irritates you and be explicit. Don’t just declare you despise your office job. Determine why you dislike it.
- Is it your micromanaging boss?
- What is your workload?
- Your insignificant job title?
- Or perhaps all of the above?
- What irritates you, and how can you resolve it?
- How much do you want to spend on repairing it?
2. As archaic and out-of-date as it may appear
it is obviously the most fundamental and readily misinterpreted of all. If you aren’t crystal-clear about what you want to accomplish in life, you are merely creating passive goals.
You lose purpose and direction when you don’t actively set your goals. You must sit down and carefully consider what you want and, more importantly, why you want it. It is our nature to enjoy everything, yet not everything we desire serves a purpose in our lives.
So, how do we go about finding what we’re looking for? We say, put your pen down! Write down all that is inside of you. What success means to you, what makes you happy, and what might satisfy your spirit.
Take some time to reflect on your history and present before deciding on your future. The clearer you are about your life’s mission, the easier it is to achieve.
While some people have clear life objectives, others find it challenging to achieve them. So, the first step is to figure out what you want from life. And it has nothing to do with selfish goals. It is more about your feelings and objectives or what you desire on the inside.
3. Do not underestimate the value of a well-thought-out action plan
Now that you’re motivated, it’s time to boldly embark on the path that will bring you to your target. However, this is a challenging route that few people pursue. You must be psychologically strong, resolute, and obstinate in keeping on track. Your efforts will be futile unless you have a comprehensive strategy to achieve your goals.
So you made a list of your objectives and the things you want to do this year. I divided my goals by category at the start of last year, from health and fitness to financial and social media, and wrote down where I intended to be in each section by today. That’s a good start, but it’s not enough.
Then, take these charted goals and create a vision board. This stage is critical for maintaining motivation and remaining on track throughout the year. Having a visual depiction continually in view can remind you of your goals and keep you motivated.
Once you’ve determined precisely what you want, simply ask for it. Don’t be afraid to speak up and be direct. It’s surprising how much you can get by just asking. Give people a convincing reason to help you.
People respond to passion and conviction.
When people ask how you are doing and if they can help, be prepared with a positive and clear answer. Your network and resources will be more supportive when you clearly articulate how they can help you. Also, when people help you, be grateful for their support. Help others, and support their dreams.
Celebrate the success you see around you. It is contagious. Don’t be bitter or jealous. Make people feel good when they are with you and when they help you.
4. Never ever be a slacker
You need brutal determination. You cannot quit. You cannot surrender. Most people give up when they are close to achieving their goals. No matter what the odds or happens, simply keep going.
As you are all aware, you must first offer something to obtain something. Being in your comfort zone, doing all the things that may not even be beneficial to your future growth, you will not go. You really need to sacrifice some of your time and energy towards your dream to make something happen. If you offer the things that do not serve your long-term goals, the road to success will suddenly become clear.
Achieving your goals and achieving your aspirations entails reconstructing yourself. The entire procedure transforms you into a new YOU. Be your best self and grow without blaming, whining, or making excuses. Believe in your path and enjoy every step of it.
Conclusion
Think of nothing else. Cut out all time and energy spent on anything that doesn’t further your dreams. Don’t get distracted by things that don’t matter. Stay away from drama, toxic people, and time zappers. Guard your energy and spirit with everything you have.
Surround yourself with positive people who believe in you and what you want to achieve. It is commonly said that you become most like the people you hang around and the people in your immediate environment.
Chose your friends, colleagues, and partners based on their ability to lift you. Cut them out if someone drags you down or drains your energy.
While it’s easy to desire and want something, we don’t always consider the consequences of obtaining it. Close your eyes and believe it. Once you get what you like, will the obligations or privileges bestowed upon you be well-managed, and are you prepared to accept them?
There is virtually always something holding us back from achieving our goals. When working toward your objective, consider what prevents you from realizing your greatest potential.
Contrary to popular belief, the world does not revolve around you or any of us! As a result, you may not get what you desire right soon or at all. The key to overcoming this is to be persistent. You’re going to get anything you want.
Motivation is always a factor when it comes to attaining what you want. While it is easy to lose sight of our objectives for days, weeks, months, or even years. Instead of losing inspiration and giving up, focusing on your objective and what you desire is a must! It is critical to maintaining your goals front and center in your life to keep your spark of inspiration alive.
